Your Protect (a trading style of Mac Fin Finance Limited) Slavery and Anti-Human Trafficking Statement 2024

At Your Protect, we are committed to being a responsible business, prioritizing ethical practices in everything we do.

By publishing this statement, we reaffirm our dedication to strengthening our policies and processes to prevent slavery and human trafficking across our business operations and supply chains.

Introduction

This statement outlines the actions taken by Your Protect to identify and mitigate risks related to modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. It applies to activities conducted during the financial year from 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2024.

At Your Protect, we are dedicated to combating modern slavery with the same rigor and commitment that we apply to delivering outstanding service to our clients. We are committed to ensuring that our business activities, as well as those within our supply chains, are free from any form of slavery or human trafficking.

This commitment drives us to continually seek new ways to address modern slavery risks and challenge all stakeholders—customers, employees, and suppliers—to join us in taking action. We welcome and align with the recommendations from the Independent Anti-Slavery Commissioner’s review of the financial services sector.

Throughout the upcoming year, our focus will be on educating our teams, equipping them with the knowledge and resources to support our clients and business partners in fighting modern slavery.

Organisational Structure

Your Protect is part of Mac Fin Finance Limited, which is regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. We strive to maintain a strong corporate identity, building long-term value into our business while attracting high-quality customers and staff. Our corporate strategy emphasizes the delivery of professional, efficient, and client-centric financial services, including those related to mortgage advice.

We operate across multiple locations and adhere to a corporate culture that prioritizes ethical business practices, customer service excellence, and compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Supply Chain and Supplier Due Diligence

Your Protect’s supply chains involve the procurement of office supplies, professional services, recruitment, and IT services. We are committed to working with reputable, well-established suppliers who comply with modern slavery legislation.

We aim to build strong relationships with our suppliers, ensuring clear and consistent expectations regarding ethical business conduct. Our due diligence process requires direct suppliers to have appropriate anti-slavery and human trafficking policies.

In Human Resources, we maintain robust identity verification and background checks when recruiting new staff, partnering with reliable third-party providers to source candidates. Once employed, we encourage employees to raise any concerns they may have, supported by key policies such as:

  • Anti-Bribery and Corruption Policy

  • Whistleblowing (Speak Up) Policy

  • Recruitment Policy

  • Domestic Abuse and Violence Policy

  • Equal Opportunities and Anti-Harassment Policy

  • Grievance Policy

  • Health and Safety Policy

  • Free, confidential employee helpline

  • Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing Policies

Modern Slavery Risk Assessment

While Your Protect is considered low risk for modern slavery due to the nature of our operations, we remain vigilant. Particular attention is paid to parts of our business where risks may arise, especially in the case of overseas services, such as IT support and software development.

Training

In compliance with the Modern Slavery Act, all employees are expected to be aware of the relationships they maintain with other companies and be alert to signs of slave labor or human trafficking. As part of our ongoing efforts, all staff members complete an annual training module on modern slavery risks, with additional training provided during induction.

Measuring Effectiveness

We are committed to regularly reviewing and improving the following measures to ensure our effectiveness in combating modern slavery:

  • Mandatory modern slavery training modules delivered to employees working with suppliers, covering basic principles and risk awareness.

  • Incorporating modern slavery training into new employee inductions.

  • Monitoring and reporting any concerns or risks related to modern slavery to senior management.

  • Ensuring new supplier contracts include clauses addressing anti-slavery obligations.

Monitoring and Reporting

If any issues related to modern slavery or human trafficking are identified, these will be escalated to the Chief People Officer. Broader issues relating to the implementation of this statement will be reported to the Human Resources Department.

This statement has been approved by the board of directors and will be reviewed and updated annually.
